At low tide, villagers dig clams

A local boy in the village

On Sunday mornings the villages are thick with smoke
as they prepare for the Umu, a traditional feast. A fire is built on top
of rocks in a pit. Once the rocks are hot, all of the foods are
placed on the rocks, and then covered with banana leaves to slowly cook.
