2008 League Rules

1. Matches will be played over nine holes at Centerpointe CC on Wednesdays with the first tee time starting at 4:00. Check the schedule for your match time each week. We will use one Flight again this year. We also will alternate front and back nines as well. There is no golf on June 27, July 4, and August 8.

2. Dues of $272.00 (including a $10.00 league fee) are due by April 20, 2007. Carts are included in the dues. There are no refunds on dues once paid. Centerpointe requires fees paid in advance and will not issue a refund. Substitutes pay a one-time fee of $20.00, which is payable to John Sullivan or Al Randall on the first nite they sub. Anyone can play in the league.

3. Centerpointe course rules apply. The use of carts is mandatory and you are responsible for your cart. You must sign for your cart in the proshop prior to each round.

4. Match cancellations are at the discretion of Centerpointe management and may be for weather or course conditions. Cancellations will be made by 3:00pm. Cancellations will be made up at the end of the year if possible.

5. Alcoholic beverages MAY NOT be brought onto Centerpointe property. Coolers and adult beverages are available in the bar at your cost.

6. The RULES of GOLF apply, with the following local and league exceptions: a)Winter rules will apply in YOUR FAIRWAY ONLY for the duration of the season. We may find it necessary to expand winter rules early in the season. Look for messages on your scoresheet. When in doubt, confer with your opponents to find an equitable solution. "Winter Rules" means that you can move your ball with a club within a few inches of where it came to rest, no closer to the hole. You should not touch the ball with your hands. Again, if it is extremely wet or muddy, we may play "pick, clean and place", which will allow you to pick it up, clean it, and place it back in an area within a few inches of where the ball initially laid. b) There is a maximum of 10 strokes per hole in the league. c) There are some specific local rules for Centerpointe, you should check their scorecard for them.

7. All Golfers (or their sub) are responsible for being on the tee at their scheduled tee time. Absent players (no Sub present) will receive ZERO points and the opposing team will receive the Match and Team points by default. The opposing player to the absent golfer will play against the course (par).

8. Players late for their matches will have the opportunity to tee off, if ALL players in the group have not played their second shot prior to the player arriving at the tee. A score of 10 will be recorded for each hole that the late player is unable to tee off from.

9. Handicapping- Each player starts the year with a posted handicap. Handicaps will be 100% of the average of the three previous rounds, minus par for the course.

10. Points- Players will be matched based on their handicaps...the Low Hcp. player from Team 1 plays the Low Hcp. player from Team 2 etc. The player with the higher hcp. will receive strokes based on the difference between his hcp. and his opponents. For example; If Player 1 has a 10 hcp. and Player 2 has a 3 hcp., then Player 1 will receive 7 strokes. The strokes will be applied to the holes based on the hcp. rating (hardest 7 holes on scorecard) for each hole. There are a total of 24 points available (12/match). Individual matches have 1 point/hole available in match play, for a total of 9 points. The lowest net score in the individual match will receive 2 points. The team with the lowest net total will receive 2 points (one per player).

11. In the event that a match cannot be completed due to weather conditions and at least 5 holes have been played, the points for the remaining holes will be split between the 2 teams.
The Commitee will determine if all matches will be resceduled or cancelled if numerous groups are unable to finish.

12. Play "Ready Golf"! Park your carts between the green and your next tee when possible. This will allow the group behind you to play sooner. Record your scores at the next tee. Be considerate of your fellow players and others using Centerpointe. Please keep the profane language to a minimum. Be aware that there is a LADIES league playing at the same time as our League.

Have A Great Time and Good Luck !
